Thank you to everyone who signed our petition for a pedestrian crossing point on Wiltshire road, near the junction with Crutchley Road. A crossing here has now been approved by Wokingham Borough Council!

“It has been a long wait since we submitted our petition on this,” said Councillor Rachel Burgess, “but on behalf of all the residents who use this busy crossing point, and everyone who signed the petition, I am delighted that the crossing is now approved.”

The crossing is used by lots of young families on the school run, as well as older and less able residents. As we know well from Community Speedwatch sessions here, this is a fast and busy stretch of road where residents, including schoolchildren, struggle to cross. The site is in the top five priorities for pedestrian crossings    and it will move to the design stage in the 2024-25 municipal year.
