The £20/week uplift to Universal Credit has kept many  families in Wokingham Constituency out of poverty and away from the Foodbank.

The £20/week cut will hit our least well off families, including those with children, the hardest.  It will make families a £1000 /year worse off.

Many households that rely on Universal Credit contain an adult who is working but they still need Universal Credit to help them buy essentials, as many jobs do not pay enough.

Self-employed people have benefited from the suspension of the Minimum Income Floor (MIF). Reinstating the MIF will hit the self-employed before they are back on their feet.

Most people claiming Universal Credit only started claiming it during the pandemic.

We call on our Member of Parliament, John Redwood MP, the Prime Minister and the Chancellor to reverse the cut to this important support for families, restore the £20/week they have cut and to suspend the Minimum Income Floor for the self-employed.

Petition: John Redwood MP, Rishi Sunak MP and Boris Johnson MP - reverse the cut in Universal Credit and suspend the MIF for the self-employed.
