Thanks to a massive campaign effort, an application for a phone mast right outside residents’ homes was refused by Wokingham Borough Council in October.

Cllr Rachel Burgess helped residents organise a petition and erected numerous notices at the site to make sure local people knew about the proposals. The plans would have seen a phone mast towering over houses and the associated cabinets, ruining a pleasant area of green space in Norreys Avenue.
