After a resident campaign,  pedestrian crossing proposals on Warren House Road have been backed by Wokingham Borough Council.

In 2022, many residents signed a petition to Wokingham Borough Council calling for a safe crossing point on Warren House Road, near the Kentwood Meadows development.

Cllr Rachel Burgess presented this petition to the Council on behalf of residents.

Wokingham Borough Council has now conducted a comprehensive evaluation and as a result has put forward a proposal for a pedestrian crossing! As always there is not enough money to install the crossing right now, but it is one of a number of priority crossings.

Your Labour team will continue to volunteer for  Community Speedwatch Sessions, along with local resident volunteers throughout the Wokingham area, including on Warren House Road. If you are interested in volunteering with  Speedwatch group please get in touch with Andy Croy 0n 07793 767 314.

In the meantime, your local Labour team will endeavour to keep the crossing as safe as possible by cutting back the vegetation themselves or reporting overgrown vegetation to the Management Company who are responsible for the hedge and to Wokingham Borough Council where the Management Company fails to fulfil its responsibilities.
